Madison – Today, in the State Capitol, the Wisconsin State Assembly honored first responders from
across the State of Wisconsin for their service and sacrifice. Representative Lindee Brill (R-Sheboygan
Falls) honored Officer Cory Wilkens of the Kiel Police Department as the First Responder of the Year for
the 27th Assembly District.

Representative Brill made the following statement, thanking Officer Cory Wilkens for his service:
“Officer Cory Wilkens served our community bravely for 35 years as a Police Officer, Field Training
Officer, Firearms Instructor, and Dispatcher. His career stands as an exemplar of a lifetime of service to
one’s community, state, and nation. I, along with the citizens of Kiel and the entire 27th Assembly
District, am profoundly grateful to Cory Wilkens and all first responders who dedicate their lives to
protect and serve our community.”

Having served as a Dispatcher from 1991 and Police Officer from 1995, Officer Cory Wilkens will retire
in January of 2026 after 35 years of selfless dedication and service to the City of Kiel and the State of
Wisconsin.
