Legislation enacted into law includes designating a bridge over STH 82 on I-39, making changes to town government operations, and exempts MiLB players from wage and hour laws

Madison, WI – Representative Alex Dallman (R-Markesan) released the following statement after Governor Evers signed three pieces of legislation, authored by Representative Dallman, into law.

“I am incredibly proud to have these bills enacted into law,” said Representative Dallman. “I am especially delighted about the Greg Quinn and Larry Millard Memorial Bridge designation on I-39. These brave and selfless firefighters lost their lives in the line of duty doing what they loved, which was helping their fellow community members. Now, every time someone drives along I-39 in the town of Oxford, their names and legacy will always be remembered.”

The bills that were enacted into law include:

Senate Bill 422 (2025 Wisconsin Act 49) designates the overpass bridge on I-39 over STH 82 in Marquette County as the “Greg Quinn and Larry Millard Memorial Bridge.”

Senate Bill 374 (2025 Wisconsin Act 77) exempts Minor League Baseball Players in Wisconsin from the wage and hour laws and allows them to be considered salaried professionals, following the first-ever collective bargaining agreement with Major League Baseball.

Senate Bill 215 (2025 Wisconsin Act 71) updates town proceedings in various areas of state statutes including allowing flexibility in town clerk and treasurer appointments, town board meeting notifications, and highway planning provisions.

“These bills were all passed with bipartisan support and I am glad to see the governor sign them for the benefit of our communities,” said Representative Dallman.
