MADISON, Wis. — Today, Governor Tony Evers delivered his State of the State Address in the Wisconsin State Capitol, where he highlighted his vision for the next year.
Representative Karen DeSanto (D-40) released the following statement:
“I applaud Governor Tony Evers for his continued dedication to improving the lives of Wisconsinites and making crucial investments for those who need it most—working families and our future generations.
“This address highlighted the Governor’s plan to further support working families by reducing costs and prioritizing our children through exciting and substantial investments in the child care industry and public education. The dedication of funds in the 2025-27 Executive Budget to make the Child Care Counts program permanent will provide much needed financial relief for families and support for childcare providers. Continued investment in all facets of Wisconsin’s public education system, from ensuring all students have access to healthy school meals to providing comprehensive mental health care in schools, will significantly improve outcomes for our children and communities.
“I congratulate Governor Evers for his address this evening and comprehensive investments in our state. I look forward to his continued leadership throughout the upcoming budget cycle.”
