MADISON – Representative Ben DeSmidt (D-Kenosha) released the following statement on Governor Evers’ 2025 State of the State Address:
“As a small business owner, I know how important it is to have a strong, reliable workforce, and there’s no doubt Wisconsin has exactly that. Ending last year with seven consecutive months of record-high employment is a testament to Governor Evers’ leadership. I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues and the Governor to continue strengthening our workforce and driving economic growth.”
“Governor Evers declared 2025 as ‘Year of the Kid’ and proposed a $300 million investment for mental health training and suicide prevention programs in schools statewide. Students are facing significant mental health challenges and it’s critical we invest in resources to ensure their future is the best it can be. I applaud this investment and other proposals announced by the Governor aimed to keep our kids safe and healthy in an environment where they can thrive.”
“It’s clear Governor Evers has a strong vision for Wisconsin’s future. I’m ready to get to work.”
