This week Governor Evers released his 2025-27 State Budget proposal. Rep. Doyle had the following to say:

“It’s been famously said: ‘Don’t tell me what you value, show me your budget, and I’ll tell you what you value.’ Over the past several months I have had a number of conversations with the Governor and his staff about the most pressing issues for Western Wisconsin. I’m proud to say that based on the Governor’s proposed budget he values Western Wisconsin.

A brief but not exhaustive list of items in the budget that I requested, and which will keep Western Wisconsin moving forward:

–          $2 billion in tax relief, largely focused on alleviating the strain of growing property taxes.

–          Hundreds of millions of dollars in road repair funding.

–          Funding to make childcare accessible and affordable for all.

–          $400 million for broadband access.

–          Funding for rural Emergency Medical Services, especially for rural communities.

–          Funding for necessary county services including increases for our Aging and Disability Resource Centers and mental health care funding for County Health and Human Services Departments.

Western Wisconsin deserves the resources needed to thrive. I’m glad to see Governor Evers agrees, and I’m excited to get to work getting these priorities into law. ”
