MADISON – This evening Governor Evers delivered his State of the State address in the Wisconsin State Capitol. Representative Jodi Emerson (D-Eau Claire) issued the following statement in response:
“I am excited by the vision Governor Evers presented in his State of the State address. His proposals reflect a strong commitment to progress, and I look forward to working with him and my colleagues in the Legislature to turn these ideas into action.
“I applaud Governor Evers for his leadership over the last six years, which has positioned Wisconsin for continued success. His focus on supporting those who need it most, including working families, is crucial as we move forward.
“The Governor’s plan to reduce costs for families, improve access to quality healthcare, and invest in education and clean drinking water is vital. His efforts to address the mental health crisis, particularly for children, and his commitment to supporting working families will have a lasting impact.
“I strongly support his focus on public safety, including reducing crime and gun violence through legislative action and community-based solutions. These priorities are key to ensuring Wisconsin remains a safe and thriving place for all.
“As we enter the legislative session and begin the budget cycle, I am eager to advance proposals that will help Wisconsin families and businesses succeed. In addition, I look forward to connecting with constituents in the coming year to hear their stories, concerns, and ideas. Listening to the voices of those I represent is essential to ensuring that the decisions we make in Madison reflect the needs of our communities. Together, we can continue to build a stronger and more prosperous Wisconsin for all.”
