MADISON, Wis. — On Thursday, July 24th, Representative Jodi Emerson (D-Eau Claire) issued the following statement regarding Governor Tony Evers’ announcement that he will not seek a third term in 2026:

“Governor Evers has dedicated decades to public service – always acting with integrity and never failing to put Wisconsin first. His leadership has guided us through some of the most unprecedented times in our state’s history and I am grateful for his service.

“While I am saddened to see him not run for re-election, I deeply respect his decision and commitment to his family. Thanks to his leadership, we’ve made monumental strides in progressing Wisconsin towards a brighter future.

“This decision marks the beginning of a pivotal moment for our state. I remain committed to continuing the work Governor Evers started, as he has said many times what’s best for our kids is what’s best for Wisconsin”
