MADISON, Wis. – Rep. Joan Fitzgerald (D-Fort Atkinson) was sworn in today at the State Capitol as the State Representative for the 46th Assembly District. Rep. Fitzgerald will serve on the following committees during the upcoming 2025-2026 legislative session: the Committee on Ways and Means, and the Committee on Workforce Development, Labor, and Integrated Employment.

Following the inauguration, Rep. Fitzgerald released the following statement: 

“I am incredibly grateful to be serve and represent the great people of the 46th District. It is a privilege to be able to serve my neighbors, and I am honored that the people of these communities have entrusted me to be their voice in Madison.

“With each new session comes a great opportunity to address the crucial issues facing Wisconsinites, and I am eager to hit the ground running to advocate for the people of District 46, and the entirety of our state.

“Throughout the course of the next two years, the State Legislature has an opportunity to enact remarkable change in the State of Wisconsin. With my colleagues, we will work to protect the rights of all Wisconsinites, increase support for our public schools, enhance public safety measures, and ensure reproductive freedom.

“Together, we can move our state forward.”
