Madison – Rep. Joy Goeben (R-Hobart) introduced legislation this week to stop the liberal left from spreading misinformation and rhetoric when it comes to abortion and healthcare. She was joined by 11 colleagues in the Senate and Assembly in authoring the bill to ensure clarity and provide a legal definition to what an abortion is NOT. She shared the following statement about the legislation and what it hopes to accomplish:
“This bill was drafted in direct response to the alarming rhetoric the left uses to scare women and health care professionals. The left likes to claim women cannot receive proper healthcare due to restrictive abortion laws. This bill has no additional penalties; it is a clear, simple definition as to what an abortion is NOT.
“Democrats should be lining up to sign on this bill! This is what liberals have been shouting about from the rooftops for decades. However, they continue to perpetuate the notion women are not going to get the care they need in a heart wrenching emergency situation. They would rather to continue to twist the truth and scare vulnerable women instead of being honest about the law. This bill is all about protecting women!
