Madison, WI – Yesterday, it was announced that Representative Rick Gundrum (R-Slinger) has been appointed to serve on the Assembly Speaker’s Task Force on Elder Services. Rep. Gundrum released the following statement:
“Wisconsin’s population continues to age. As a former Chair of the Assembly Committee on Aging and Long-Term Care, I know it is important that we take care of our seniors. It’s not uncommon for them to feel isolated, as they get older and retire from their place of work. In addition to loneliness, many seniors become reliant on fixed incomes to pay off debt or afford basic needs. Seniors are also more susceptible to abuse that can take form emotionally, physically, or financially.
On this task force, our goal is to examine various existing government programs and find solutions that will help improve efficiency and outcomes that are better for Wisconsin’s aging population.”
