MADISON – Today, Representative Jenna Jacobson (D-Oregon), along with Wisconsin Democrats introduced legislation to directly invest in child care providers and families. Rep. Jacobson released the following statement:
“It is past time for the Legislature to provide meaningful solutions to Wisconsin’s lack of childcare. Child care is foundational to our economy, providing parents the ability to go to work and teaching our youngest Wisconsinites.
“The Joint Finance Committee voted to cut funding for child care, along party lines. This funding would have saved money for Wisconsin families.
“We can and should be prioritizing our children and our future.”
