MADISON, WI – This afternoon, the other members of the Speaker’s Task Force on Rulemaking were officially announced. As the chair of this task force, Representative Brent Jacobson (R – Mosinee) released the following statement:

“I’m proud to officially welcome my fellow task force members,” said Rep. Jacobson. “In the months since Evers v. Marklein II, Wisconsin has seen state bureaucrats push to increase fees on livestock auctions by nearly 1700%, and implement changes to the building code which will hinder efforts to construct housing. Now more than ever, we must restore accountability to our unelected bureaucracies. With our membership established, I am eager to begin this critical work.”

The following Wisconsin State Representatives will sit on the Speaker’s Task Force on Rulemaking:

Representative Brent Jacobson (Chair)Representative Nate GustafsonRepresentative Karen HurdRepresentative Shae SortwellRepresentative Ron TuslerRepresentative Duke TuckerRepresentative Clinton Anderson (Vice-Chair)Representative Margaret ArneyRepresentative Brienne BrownRepresentative Karen DeSanto

“I look forward to having constructive conversations with all the members of this task force,” said Rep. Jacobson. “Administrative overreach is not a partisan issue, and I remain hopeful that our work to restore the people’s voice in agency rulemaking will be bipartisan.”
