MADISON – Wisconsin State Representative Alex Joers was sworn in today at the State Capitol for a second term in the Assembly. Joers represented the 79th District in the previous legislative session, and now will represent the 81st  District for the 2025-2026 session due to the recent redistricting.

“I am honored to return to the Assembly to continue representing the people and communities close to my heart,” Joers said. “This session, I look forward to investing in our kids’ education, securing our freedoms, and lowering costs for working families. I’ll work with anyone who is serious about making a difference for Wisconsin in a positive way, just as I did last legislative session.”

In his first term in the State Assembly, Joers authored several pieces of legislation that became law, from helping students afford higher education to promoting access to healthy food.  For the 2025-2026 Legislative Session, Joers was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and will also serve as the Ranking Member on the newly formed Committee on Small Business Development.

“Coming from working and managing my family’s local small business, I understand that our state has a lot to offer to make it easier to start and maintain a small business. I hope to use that background on these committees to lift up the experiences of Wisconsin’s small businesses and local economies,” said Joers.

Joers will return to several committees from the last session including; Colleges & Universities, Tourism, and Rules.

“I want to pass meaningful and responsible legislation that will help Wisconsin families and make their lives better.  I will continue to use my voice to advocate for fairness, equality, and progress this session,” Joers concluded.
