MADISON, WI — Today, Legislative Democrats introduced a package of bills that aims to strengthen Wisconsin’s workforce. Within the “Build A Stronger Wisconsin” bill package, Legislative Democrats work to restore prevailing wage, introduce Project Labor Agreements to Wisconsin, address ongoing worker misclassification, and repeal the “Right-to-Work” law that restricts Wisconsinites freedoms in organizing unions.

Representative Tara Johnson (D-Town of Shelby) released the following statement:

“Wisconsin is built on the backs of working class individuals, and this legislation protects their rights, recognizes their hard work, and returns their dignity. I’m so deeply proud to be a co-author of these bills, and to be a part of it with all Democrats of the Assembly and Senate. Today, my colleagues and I showed firm support in protecting unions in Wisconsin.”

“With the voices of Wisconsin workers growing louder, demanding better pay, safer working conditions, and a greater voice in the workplace, our bills can be the relief our workers have been waiting for. Wisconsin workers deserve better. When unions are strong, Wisconsin is strong.”
