Madison, WI — Today, State Representative-Elect Renuka Mayadev (D-Madison) was officially sworn in at the Wisconsin State Capitol, marking the beginning of her term serving the residents of Wisconsin’s 77th District. Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, Rep. Mayadev pledged to bring bold, action-oriented leadership to the Capitol and work tirelessly on behalf of her constituents. In addition to Rep. Mayadev leading as the ranking Democratic member on the Assembly Committee on Constitution and Ethics, she will serve on the Assembly Committee on Health, Aging and Long-Term Care.

Following the ceremony, Rep. Mayadev released the following statement: 

“I am deeply honored to have been entrusted by the people of Assembly District 77 to represent their voice in the State Assembly. 

“With the 2025-2026 Legislative Session officially underway, I am ready to get to work for the people of Wisconsin. We must prioritize reproductive freedom, build a comprehensive early childhood education system, combat gun violence, strengthen our public schools, and ensure fairness and opportunity for every Wisconsinite. 

“Together, we can build a Wisconsin where every child has a strong start and families are able to thrive and prosper.”
