MADISON – Four new bipartisan task forces were announced at the beginning of October. Representative Maureen McCarville (D-DeForest) was appointed to the Legislative Task Force on Elder Services.

The task force will work to identify ways to improve and protect the lives of the senior population in Wisconsin. It will specifically focus on services and benefits that will allow seniors to remain in their own homes as long as possible, improving options for outside social interactions, and finding solutions to protecting them from financial fraud and abuse.

In response to the appointment, Representative McCarville issued the following statement:

“Wisconsinites over the age of 65 make up roughly 1/5 of the state’s population and this number is projected to rise over the course of the next decade. We must make sure we do everything we can to protect our seniors as they age and become more vulnerable to targeted attacks.”
