MADISON – Today, first responders from across Wisconsin were honored in the State Capitol with a First Responder of the Year Award. This award is given to first responders for their bravery, sacrifice, and service to the people of their communities. Representative Maureen McCarville presented DeForest Police Officer Jared Coffren with the award on behalf of the 42nd Assembly District.
Following the ceremony Representative McCarville released this statement:
“When two vehicles were involved in a crash, Officer Coffren arrived on the scene, secured everyone’s safety, and acted without hesitation to help free a victim trapped in a car. Officer Coffren showed incredible courage and resourcefulness and continues to do so every day in the DeForest Police Department.”
“We are so lucky to have incredible men and women serving as first responders in the 42nd. I am sure that Officer Coffren will continue to be a shining example of what it really means to serve your community.”
