MADISON—Today, Assembly and Senate Democrats, led by Rep. Sylvia Ortiz-Velez and Sen. Tim Carpenter, introduced legislation to empower Wisconsin’s schools, places of worship, and other locations in light of recent immigration actions taken by ICE and the federal government.
State Representative Supreme Moore Omokunde (D-Milwaukee) said: “I strongly support my colleagues in this effort. Our purpose is simple: we seek to prevent the misuse of power by those who would prey on our community.”
