Madison…Representative Clint Moses (R-Menomonie) is proud that legislation to unlock Wisconsin’s potential to become an international hub for video game companies looking to move to Wisconsin continues to receive support in the Legislature.

“We know that video game companies are looking to expand and move their headquarters out of California,” said Representative Moses. “Wisconsin has the talent, infrastructure, and tax climate to be the perfect landing spot for businesses, and my bill gives them one more reason to call our area home. By incentivizing these companies to come to Wisconsin, we have an opportunity to create more high paying jobs for our area.”

University of Wisconsin-Stout’s School of Art and Design has been recognized as one of the best schools for a Game Design & Development degree. Having more companies headquartered in our state, like Raven software, the maker of Call of Duty, would also help keep more talented graduates in our state’s workforce.

“”Every graduate from our Game Design and Development program represents years of effort in building essential team-based technical and artistic career-ready skills. We would love to see more of this multidisciplinary talent stay in-state, which can help enrich the technical and creative industry of Wisconsin,” stated Andrew Williams, a professor from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Senate Bill 204 is expected to receive a hearing in the Senate soon while Assembly Bill 204 had a hearing yesterday. Both committees will need to vote on the bill before it can be presented to the full Assembly and Senate.
