MADISON, Wis. — Today, Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) appointed Rep. Jodi Emerson (D-Eau Claire) to the Council on Human Trafficking, created by 2023 Wisconsin Act 239.
Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) and Rep. Jodi Emerson (D-Eau Claire) released the following statements:
“I am proud to appoint Rep. Jodi Emerson to the newly created Council on Human Trafficking,” said Rep. Neubauer. “With her experience on the Speaker’s Task Force on Human Trafficking and her professional background in combating this critical issue, she will bring valuable insight to the table and be a strong advocate for moving real policy solutions forward.
“I’m honored to be selected by Leader Neubauer for this appointment. Before I was elected, I was very involved in statewide policy regarding fighting human trafficking and have continued that path while in office,” said Rep. Emerson. “I believe that fighting human trafficking is a topic everyone can agree on, regardless of political affiliation. I hope to take my passion for helping victims of trafficking, and my desire to hold perpetrators accountable to create policy solutions that will protect Wisconsinites in all 72 counties.”
