MADISON, Wis. — Ahead of Pride Month, the Wisconsin Legislative LGBTQ+ Caucus introduced the “Equality Agenda” legislative package to promote equality and improve safety for LGBTQ+ Wisconsinites. After the introduction, Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement:

“Alongside my colleagues and fellow members of the Wisconsin Legislative LGBTQ+ Caucus, I am incredibly proud to introduce the Equality Agenda and kick off Pride Month.

“As out LGBTQ+ legislators, allies, and advocates, we are dedicated to expanding equal rights and protections for all Wisconsinites—especially as Donald Trump and far-right extremists across our country ratchet up the rhetoric and target LGBTQ+ rights.

“The Equality Agenda will move our state forward and make Wisconsin a better place for LGBTQ+ folks and families to live, work, and stay. From amending our state constitution to recognize marriage equality to finally eliminating the so-called ‘gay and trans’ panic defense, we are committed to doing what’s right for LGBTQ+ folks in Wisconsin.”
