MADISON, Wis. – Earlier today, Representative Lori Palmeri held a press conference to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Wisconsin State Park System and highlight the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ commonsense budget proposals as we head into budget season. In attendance were Representative Palmeri, DNR Secretary Karen Hyun, DNR Fish, Wildlife & Parks Division Administrator Diane Brusoe, and DNR recreation partnerships section chief Missy VanLanduyt. Additionally, Rep. Palmeri released LRB-2998/1, a resolution honoring the 125th Anniversary of the Wisconsin State Park System.

Representative Palmeri remarked at the press conference: “I think there’s a lot to be excited about with the budget items DNR has in the budget currently. Over the next month and a half, I am looking forward to working with the DNR and my friends across the aisle to try and get these commonsense, popular provisions passed into our budget, so we can make sure these next generations can appreciate the great outdoors of Wisconsin like we have been able to.”

DNR Secretary Hyun, in her remarks, said: “From the budget meetings I’ve had with legislators, it’s clear there’s a lot of shared and bipartisan interest in our parks amongst our state legislators, and I’m hopeful that the budget that makes it to the Governor’s desk will reflect that.”
