MADISON, WI – Yesterday, the Assembly recognized first responders from across the state for contributions to public safety in their communities. Among those recognized was Captain Scott Rasmussen of the Oshkosh Fire Department. Representative Palmeri offered the following statement:

“Captain Rasmussen has demonstrated humility and selflessness by building a peer support team for his fellow firefighters, recognizing the unique challenges of the profession. He also helped to establish an annual Recognition Banquet for his colleagues to uplift the successes of others in the Department.” stated Rep. Palmeri.

“Those who support and uplift their peers don’t get recognition of their own, usually because they don’t think they’re doing anything special – it’s simply who they are. Captain Rasmussen is so deserving of this honor, and his efforts to strengthen the morale and resilience of the Oshkosh Fire Department will impact the wellbeing of the wider community for years to come.”
