MADISON, Wis. – Today, the Wisconsin State Assembly came together to vote on a series of bills, ranging from the modernization of our healthcare workforce to tackling the crime of sexual extortion. Rep. Palmeri released the following statement:
“Today, the Assembly came together to pass a series of bipartisan bills that I was proud to support. Particularly, we passed a bill that will increase access to care by creating an additional system of licensure for advanced practice registered nurses. This is a bill that has been introduced across a few different legislative sessions, and has encountered opposition each time. I’m glad to see we have finally got it past the finish line, and look forward to it being signed into law.
“While we came together today to pass these important bills, I still worry about the ongoing budget process. The Joint Committee on Finance appears to be going down a path that does not support our public schools and seeks to undermine the Universities of Wisconsin. We are here to find compromises that will work for the people of Wisconsin, and I hope we are able to find this compromise as the time to pass the budget runs out.”
