MADISON, Wis. – Yesterday, Representative-Elect Priscilla A. Prado (D-Milwaukee) was administered the Oath of Office and began her first term in the State Assembly. Inaugurated at the start of the Wisconsin’s 107th Legislative Session, Prado is excited to work on behalf of the people of Milwaukee in the 9th District.
“It is an honor to be chosen by my community to represent them in the State Assembly. I am deeply appreciative and grateful for all of the support I have received, and am privileged to be their Latina voice in Madison.”
As former treasurer on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce, Representative Prado played an essential role in the economic development of Milwaukee’s Latino community. With over 20 years of experience in accounting, Prado founded Midwest Bookkeeping, a tax and bookkeeping firm, which established her as a prominent figure in her district.
“I want my constituents to know that their voice, their Latino voices, matter. I promise to always advocate for my community’s shared values and fight for progress. I look forward to the challenges ahead in order to move our city and state forward.”
Focusing on uplifting Milwaukee’s Latino community, Prado pledges to address issues that affect all of her constituents, such as reckless driving, affordable housing stock, and promote equitable opportunities for all. Representative Prado hopes to prioritize economic growth within the 9th District, expand access to healthcare and social programs for underserved communities, and is eager to serve her constituents.
“As a dedicated member of our community, I pledge to fight for safer streets, accessible healthcare, affordable housing, and a future where every family can thrive.”
