MADISON – A joint resolution authored by Rep. Amaad Rivera-Wagner (D-Green Bay) honoring the life of former State Rep. Jim Soletski was passed unanimously today by the State Assembly.

Assembly Joint Resolution 11 (AJR11), co-authored by Sen. Jamie Wall (D-Green Bay) and Rep. Ryan Spaude (D-Green Bay), recognizes “…the life and public service of Representative Jim Soletski”, including his childhood in Green Bay, his years working in the energy industry, his leadership in organizations like JOSHUA and Al-Anon, and his service in the State Assembly.

“Jim was a dedicated public servant and leader.  He loved Green Bay and our state and was proud to serve his friends and neighbors in the State Assembly. I think it’s important that we honor and recognize those who came before us, and that’s why I authored this resolution,” Rivera-Wagner said.

Soletski passed away in August 2024; today would have been his 77th birthday. Several family members, including Rep. Soletski’s brother Rick; Rick’s partner, and Jim’s former staffer, Dan Young; Jim’s youngest daughter, Erica; and his niece, Dawn, were on hand for the vote and received a framed copy of the resolution.
