Green Bay – State Rep. Amaad Rivera-Wagner (D-Green Bay) hosted a roundtable conversation on immigration and immigrants’ rights, where he was joined by Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul, Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich, the Green Bay Police, and numerous other community leaders.
“There is considerable fear, confusion, and uncertainty surrounding federal immigration policies at this moment. I brought together individuals from various sectors of our community for a meaningful dialogue on immigration policies, their challenges, and the opportunities they present. While we all share the goal of ensuring our communities are safe from crime, regardless of immigration status, it is essential that we do not equate the mere presence of immigrants with criminality. As a city, state, and nation built by immigrants, we must remain a place where everyone can thrive and feel secure. In Green Bay, we will uphold the law while also protecting individuals’ constitutional rights. I would like to express my gratitude to Attorney General Josh Kaul, Mayor Eric Genrich, and all the community leaders who participated in this crucial conversation.” Rivera-Wagner said.
