MADISON, Wis. — Today, Governor Evers delivered his biennial budget address, highlighting Wisconsinites’ priorities for the upcoming 2025-2027 budget. In response, Representative Sheehan (D-Sheboygan) issued the following statement:

“I am incredibly pleased with Governor Evers’ budget proposal and his plan for Wisconsin. This budget shows that Governor Evers is putting working families and Wisconsinites first by prioritizing budget initiatives that will lower the cost of childcare, prescription drugs, and more. The common-sense and innovative solutions that Governor Evers proposed will help make our state a better place to grow up, learn, and live.

“Governor Evers has kept his promises and listened to the people of Wisconsin for the entirety of his time in office. Budgets are a sign of priorities, and the governor has made it clear that budget decisions should benefit our kids and our collective future. I’m thrilled to see what state reimbursement of 60 percent of special education costs could do for our schools. In the State of the State Governor Evers said this would be the “Year of the Kid.” Tonight, it is clear he intends to deliver on that promise.

“Now, it’s time to get to work for the people of Wisconsin and help Governor Evers move the state forward.”
