MADISON – Today, Governor Tony Evers delivered his State of the State Address in the Wisconsin State Capitol, where he highlighted his vision for the next year. Representative Sheehan (D-Sheboygan) released the following statement:

“Governor Tony Evers strong leadership over the last 6 years has been an undeniably positive force in the State of Wisconsin. I applaud his continued support of our working families who need it most.

“During his address Governor Evers declared 2025 to be the year of the kid. I was excited to hear the commonsense proposals Governor Evers plans to place in his budget to support our state’s children, including calling on Republicans to release $50,000 already allocated to our education system and once again proposing historic investments in K-12 education. His plan to increase funding for childcare is especially important, and I am excited to see the real difference easing the burden of childcare can make on the lives of Wisconsinites.

“I congratulate Governor Evers on his address and look forward to his continued leadership moving forward. The governor said it best, ‘Let’s get to work!’”
