Today, in advance of June’s Pride Month, Representative Snodgrass joined her colleagues of the Wisconsin Legislative LGBTQ+ Caucus in co-authoring the 2025 Equality Agenda.

This comprehensive bill package will promote equality and improve safety for LGBTQIA+ Wisconsinites and includes seven bills and five joint resolutions. Representative Snodgrass is lead author on LRB 3040 which prohibits certain mental health providers from engaging in conversion therapy with a minor. Conversion therapy is any practice that seeks to change an individual’s gender expression, gender identity, or sexual orientation. She is also lead author on The Marriage and Family Equality Act (LRB 0842) which recognizes same-sex marriage by making references in the statutes to spouses gender neutral. The bill also recognizes legal parentage for same-sex couples under certain circumstances.

Representative Snodgrass released the following statement:

“More than ever we must take steps to ensure equal rights and protections under the law for our Wisconsin LGBTQ+ community and their families. As we have seen basic rights and freedoms be threatened or denied at the federal level, it is important that Wisconsin take our own legislative steps to make sure that every resident of Wisconsin can live authentically as themselves without threat to their marriage, parentage, mental health or safety. ALL Wisconsin citizens deserve equal rights and opportunities under the law and these bills make meaningful steps toward making that a reality.”
