De Pere, Wis. — Democratic members of the Wisconsin State Legislature heard from educators, parents, and community members in De Pere about the importance of strong investments in our public schools.

After the event, Rep. Ryan Spaude (D-Ashwaubenon) and Sen. Jamie Wall (D-Green Bay), released the following statement:

Rep. Ryan Spaude:

“We heard loud and clear from teachers, parents, administrators and community members that we must make strong investments in our public schools,” said Rep. Ryan Spaude. “Without a budget that supports school districts in every corner of our state, we put our students’ futures at risk. We heard powerful testimony in De Pere, and we’re bringing that back to the Capitol.”

Sen. Jamie Wall:

“Every student in Wisconsin deserves a great education—and it’s our job in the State Capitol to deliver a state budget that supports our schools,”said Sen. Jamie Wall. “Communities, like De Pere, shouldn’t be forced to go to referendum to support their students. We must pass a strong biennial budget that does right by our school districts–like funding special education–and gives them the resources they need to succeed.”
