Madison, WI—Today, State Representative David Steffen (R-Howard) released the following statement regarding his recent appointment to the Wisconsin Nuclear Power Summit Board:

“As a leader in advancing nuclear power in Wisconsin, I look forward to continuing this work by serving on our state’s Nuclear Power Summit Board. The Summit will be a key opportunity to showcase our state’s research, development and manufacturing sectors—all of which make Wisconsin ready to lead in the nuclear industry.

“Nuclear power is critical to meeting our state’s growing energy needs. The Nuclear Power Summit is an important step in laying the groundwork and developing Wisconsin’s roadmap for advancing nuclear power and technology.”

Rep. Steffen led on a package of bills this session that push nuclear power forward in Wisconsin. Now enacted, these include 2025 Act 11 which relates to the state hosting the Nuclear Power Summit; 2025 Act 12 which relates to the state conducting a nuclear power siting study; and 2025 SJR 7 which declares Wisconsin’s commitment to developing and investing in nuclear energy.
