MADISON, Wis. — Today, Governor Evers delivered his biennial budget address, highlighting Wisconsinites’ priorities for the upcoming 2025-2027 budget. In response, Representative Stroud (D-Ashland) issued the following statement:

“At a time of significant economic uncertainty caused by reckless decisions in Washington, Governor Evers’ budget provides critical investments in the issues that matter most to our families, our children, and our communities. We have a choice to make: we can continue to allow partisan gridlock to prevent real progress, or we can take this opportunity to work together to deliver for our state.”

“The Governor’s proposal includes nearly $2 billion in tax relief, clean water initiatives for lead and PFAS, lowering the costs of living for Wisconsin families, and an historic $3.1 billion investment public education– all while maintaining fiscal responsibility and retaining $500 million set aside to respond to Federal mismanagement.”

“I’m proud to support a budget that prioritizes kids, families, the middle-class, and clean water. I look forward to hosting listening sessions across the district to learn from constituents about the issues that resonate with them, and to gather any input and feedback they might have.”
