Superior, WI – Representative Angela Stroud announced today that she will hold a town hall meeting in Superior to hear from constituents and discuss the implications of the recently passed state budget on school funding and to strategize ways to support our public schools.

The Superior School District is projected to lose $1.8 million in state general aid under the new budget, forcing that shortfall to be made up through increased local property taxes. Representative Stroud cited this as a key reason for her “no” vote on the state budget.

“Superior taxpayers should not be left to pick up the tab for our public schools simply because lawmakers chose to underfund general aid,” said Rep. Stroud. “The budget decision makers on the Joint Finance Committee made this choice, and yet our local schools and families are being asked to shoulder the burden. This town hall is your chance to learn how this budget impacts you, how it affects our schools, and to brainstorm together how we can help support our public schools at a time when they’re under attack.”

The town hall will take place on:

Date: Wednesday, September 24, 2025

Time: 5:15 – 6:45 p.m.

Location: Superior Public Library, 1530 Tower Ave, Superior, WI.

All are welcome.
