MADISON – Today, Governor Tony Evers released his proposed budget for the 2025-2027 budget cycle to the Wisconsin Assembly. Representative Subeck (D-Madison) released the following statements.

“As Democrats, we believe that every child in Wisconsin should have access to healthy food and clean water. Every child should have access to high-quality mental health care, and be able to walk into a world-class public school knowing that they are safe and accepted. Tonight, Governor Evers laid out that vision for our state and his plan to get us there, and I could not be more excited to get to work.”

“Our community here in Madison is still reeling from a devastating shooting at Abundant Life Christian School. From comprehensive mental health care to safe storage, Governor Evers’ budget lays out an ambitious strategy to tackle gun violence head on.”

“With 1 in 13 children in the U.S. affected by food allergies, I am proud to work with Governor Evers to ensure access to life-saving Epi-Pens in all Wisconsin public schools, protecting the lives of thousands of kids across our state.”

“I was pleased to see that the Governor has made access to good jobs and to safe, affordable housing a priority in his budget this year by incorporating several provisions of the Wisconsin Opportunity Act, a bill I introduced last session and plan to introduce again in the coming months.”

“Governor Evers continues to prioritize bringing down the cost of prescription drugs for families. Our Less for Rx program will do exactly that, because no Wisconsinite should have to skip a dose of their medication because they can’t afford it.”

“I am proud to work with Governor Evers to create Wisconsin’s first ever Parkinson’s registry, which will help scientists track and research emerging trends in this disease and help improve the quality of life for members of the Parkinson’s community”

Rep. Subeck represents the 79th Assembly District, and serves as Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
