MADISON – The National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) has selected Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) as one of the winners of its 2025 Backpack Program. Through a partnership with Walmart, the initiative provides elected women with backpacks filled with essential school supplies to distribute to students in their communities.
Rep. Subeck distributed backpacks to local students at the Meadowood Neighborhood Center (5740 Raymond Rd, Madison)on Wednesday afternoon during the center’s after-school programming.
“I am honored to be selected for this program and to play a part in ensuring students in the 79th Assembly District will have a successful school year,” said Rep. Subeck. “Every child should have access tools they need to succeed in school, and with this initiative they will be able to start the year ready to learn.”
The National Foundation for Women Legislators is the nation’s oldest nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering elected women at the state and local levels of government. NFWL offers resources, programming, and events that help women leaders address challenges and drive policy solutions in their communities.
