Representative Paul Tittl (R-Manitowoc) and Senator Rachael Cabral-Guevara (R-Appleton) have introduced legislation designating the Monarch butterfly as the state butterfly.
“Monarchs are wonderful pollinators, and their conservation directly benefits a variety of other plants, animals and pollinators,” said Tittl. “Because children love Monarchs, their presence also helps kids to enjoy the outdoors.
A news conference related to the Monarchs will take place on Monday, July 14th at 11 a.m. at the Butterfly Garden of Wisconsin, N2550 WI-47, Appleton, 54913.
Jack Voight, former Wisconsin State Treasurer and former Outagamie County Treasurer, will host. The public is invited to attend.
