MADISON, Wis. – in the first week of June, Wisconsin Legislative Democrats introduced three bill packages to address federal funding, mental health, and gun safety.

Representative Randy Udell (D-47th District) released the following statement:

“The Trump Administration unlawfully cut allocated Wisconsin funds and mishandled Wisconsinites’ personal data – so, we introduced four bills to keep more Wisconsin funds in-state and protect Wisconsinites’ government data.

“Wisconsin residents, young and old, are facing a mental health crisis – so, we introduced nine bills to support student mental health and expand mental healthcare coverage requirements for insurance.

“Gun violence is continuing to rise – so, we introduced four bills with overwhelming public bipartisan support to ban undetectable ‘ghost guns,’ close background check loopholes, and create an Extreme Risk Protection Order to empower law enforcement to address known mass violence risks.

“While Republicans play political games with the budget and hold public funding ransom, Wisconsin Democrats continue developing legislation to combat real issues.”
