MADISON, Wis – Today, Representative Randy Udell (D-47th District) issued a statement on Congress’s proposed federal cuts to Medicaid.
“Everyone should have access to decent, affordable healthcare, whether public or private. Three out of five nursing home residents, two out of five Wisconsin children, and two out of five Wisconsin births rely on Medicaid. Cutting these programs would end life-saving treatments and force hospitals that depend on these reimbursements to close.
“The proposed $880 billion in federal spending cuts will hurt Wisconsin. It is the job of the government to help its everyday citizens, not to funnel money to billionaires through tariffs and top-end tax breaks.”
