WAUWATOSA–After torrential rainfall and widespread flooding in Southeast Wisconsin this weekend, Governor Evers issued a State of Emergency to respond to the severe flood damage. This declaration directs all state agencies and the Wisconsin National Guard to assist in response and recovery efforts. Rep. Robyn Vining joined Governor Evers, State Senator LaTonya Johnson, and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley yesterday to tour some of the damage caused to her community. Rep. Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa) issued the following statement:
“Our community has experienced a severe weather event, and my heart is with everyone enduring this catastrophe right now. I want to express my gratitude to Governor Evers for joining us in Wauwatosa to survey some of the devastating storm damage, and to meet with our extraordinary first responders, city leaders and staff, as well as local business owners who are facing challenging losses.
“The damage is serious, and the pain across the community is real. Let’s be good neighbors and take care of each other during this difficult time. Forward, together.”
Rep. Vining represents the 13th Assembly District, which includes Elm Grove, and parts of Wauwatosa and Brookfield. For more information visit Rep. Vining’s website here.
