BARABOO, Wis – Representative Karen DeSanto (D-Baraboo) and Representative Andrew Hysell (D–Sun Prairie) will host a roundtable discussion in Baraboo to discuss tariffs and the impact of private school funding on property taxes. Rep. Hysell has introduced legislation aimed at improving tariff tax transparency in Wisconsin.

The public event will take place on Monday, November 24, from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm in the W.R. and Floy A. Sauey Foundation Community Meeting Room at Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library (230 4th Ave, Baraboo, WI 53913).

“Amid rising costs, increasing tariffs, and following the confusion of the government shutdown making it harder for people to access benefits, it is crucial for taxpayers to understand where their money is going and how they can make the best financial decisions for their families. We are eager to connect over these issues and hear from constituents on the solutions they want.” Rep. DeSanto said

“It seems like common sense that taxpayers should know what taxes they pay. Income taxes are listed on paystubs, sales tax is disclosed at the cash register, and property tax bills are mailed annually. Yet, a torrent of tariffs emanating from Washington, D.C. are being hidden from Wisconsin consumers.” Rep. Hysell said
