Madison – Representatives Barbara Dittrich (R-Oconomowoc) and Ron Tusler (R-Harrison) issued the following joint statement in response to the terrorist attack on those gathering to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia.
It is with profound sadness that we extend our heartfelt sympathies to the victims of the attack on Sunday, December 14th, as well as to the entire Jewish community worldwide. Having witnessed firsthand the horrors of the Hamas attacks perpetrated upon Israel October 7, 2023, we unequivocally condemn all forms of antisemitism worldwide and call for peace during the joyous season of Hanukkah and beyond. It collectively sickens us to know that both a Holocaust survivor and an October 7th survivor were victimized in the Bondi Beach attack. There is no place for this sort of hate at this point in history. “Never Again,” means NEVER AGAIN. We must come together as neighbors, friends, and citizens to stand against such vile targeting of innocent people. Civil society requires it of each of us.
