Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez in a speech to the state Dem Party convention reminded delegates of her progress alongside Gov. Tony Evers and the importance of continuing to work as a state party.

“I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished together,” Rodriguez said.

She added Democrats have fought to lower costs and support Wisconsinites despite the “radical” Republicans in the state Legislature.

Rodriguez said she’s been hearing from concerned constituents about President Donald Trump’s administration — from a farmer who fears those in power, a mom who can’t afford childcare and a veteran worried about losing benefits.

“Yes, people are worried,” Rodriguez said. “But more than anything, they’re asking a simple question: who’s fighting for me? I want them to know, I am. I want them to know we are fighting for them.”

Rodriguez promised Democrats would fight for Wisconsinites’ priorities in the state budget this year and fight to hold the governor’s seat and flip the state Legislature next year.
