The Republican State Leadership Committee announced a $2 million commitment to Wisconsin’s state Supreme Court race and launched an ad seeking to tie liberal candidate Susan Crawford to illegal immigration.
The group filed notice with the Ethics Commission that it had spent $763,081 on a TV and $456,267 on online advertising for more than $1.2 million in outlays so far.
The narrator in the new ad says President Donald Trump is keeping his promise to stop illegal immigration and “deport violent, illegal immigrants with criminal records.” The “far left” couldn’t beat him last time, so “they’re trying again,” the narrator adds before saying Crawford would “guarantee a far-left majority on Wisconsin’s highest court.” That majority would defend Dem priorities to “protect sanctuary cities, stop deportations of illegal immigrants, and let criminals roam free.”
The spot concludes, “That’s crazy. Susan Crawford is wrong for Wisconsin.”
