WAUKESHA, Wisc. – Last night, Susan Crawford doubled down on her horrific decision to release a felon who repeatedly raped a 5-year-old girl on a $500 signature bond. The man now lives within miles of an elementary school. When asked if she regretted her heinous decision, Susan Crawford defiantly proclaimed, “I don’t regret that sentence.” Her disrespect for victims and disregard for the safety of our communities is disqualifying.

WATCH SUSAN CRAWFORD DOUBLE DOWN ON HER HORRIFYING DECISION

“Last night, Susan Crawford doubled down on her grotesque decision to coddle a child rapist – a decision she doesn’t even regret,” said Schimel Campaign Spokesperson Jacob Fischer. “Child rapists, sexual predators, and violent criminals know that they have an ally in Susan Crawford. Her career is defined by making Wisconsin less safe.”

For Susan Crawford, providing lenient sentences to dangerous criminals is a pattern:

  • Coddled Child Molesters: Crawford gave a man who sexually assaulted six and seven-year-old girls in a public swimming pool only four years in jail. He now lives within minutes of elementary schools.
  • Allowed Children to be Sexualized: Crawford gave a slap on the wrist for men convicted of child porn. The men could have received 25 years in prison, but Crawford sentenced them to just 4 years.
  • Let Violent Criminals Walk Early: Crawford tried to rush pardons for 27 convicted criminals, pushing to bypass the normal interview process and release them sooner. She also refused to send a man to prison who pointed an AR-15 directly at law enforcement.
  • Lenient Sentences to Killers: In 2019, Susan Crawford gave sweetheart deals to three people convicted of brutally beating a young man to death. One of the killers is already back on our streets, and the other two will soon be free to prowl our streets.
  • Sweetheart Deal for a Repeat Felon: Susan Crawford gave a repeat felon, who nearly beat a 19-year-old UW-Madison student to death, less than half of the prosecution’s suggested prison sentence.
