MILWAUKEE – This week, the Wisconsin Legislative Black Caucus began its statewide listening tour to build a Black Policy Agenda for all to thrive, with stops in Green Bay and Racine. The caucus members heard from over 100 residents on changes they would like to see from the State Legislature.
Chair of the Wisconsin Legislative Black Caucus, Senator Dora Drake, and State Representative Supreme Moore Omokunde have released the following statements in reflection:
“The attendance of these town halls reflects Black Wisconsinites’ desire for change in our state and highlights the commonalities we share with everyone. I’m excited to continue this tour to hear more from Wisconsinites everywhere!” – Senator Dora Drake
“I’m ecstatic that so many people came out to talk about the real issues impacting Black Wisconsinites in Green Bay, Racine, and across the state. This is how we set an agenda as a caucus, speaking directly to the people. On with the tour!” – Representative Moore Omokunde
The Wisconsin Legislative Black Caucus will host their 3rd Town Hall this Monday, September 22nd, at the Black Business Hub in Madison and their fourth in Milwaukee on Thursday, October 2nd, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
