MADISON, WI – Today, Legislative Democrats introduced a three-bill package to help working families across the state of Wisconsin. The Lowering Costs, Improving Lives package would cut the costs of grocery bills for families by enacting Healthy School Meals for All, decrease prescription drug prices through our Less for Rx agenda, and reduce the tax burden for low-income renters and homeowners by expanding the Homestead Tax Credit.

Senator Habush Sinykin (D-Whitefish Bay) released the following statement:

“Throughout my campaign, I, along with my Democratic colleagues, heard from hundreds of voters about the pressures of rising costs, from groceries to gas to housing. As legislators, it is our job to be responsive to the voters that elected us. Today, as we roll out the Lowering Costs, Improving Lives package, Legislative Democrats are taking action to help Wisconsinites have the freedom, opportunity, and economic security to thrive.

“I am proud that the first bills I introduce as an elected official will address rising costs and work to help provide financial relief for Wisconsin families. Lowering Costs, Improving Lives addresses relief for grocery bills, prescription drug prices, and housing costs. These are all common-sense, practical ways we can improve the lives of Wisconsinites. I am ready to build upon this work and I look forward to our future packages to help the people of Wisconsin.”
