MADISON, WI… State Sen. André Jacque (R-New Franken) today announced that the Legislature’s budget-writing committee will hold a public hearing in the 1st Senate District at Kaukauna High School in the Town of Buchanan and urged constituents to make their voices heard as lawmakers formulate the state’s new spending plan.  The seven-hour hearing is one of four the committee is holding across the state.  Sen. Jacque also recently announced a slate of six town halls across each county in the 1st District which will include budget topics.

“This regional hearing is a fantastic opportunity for us to speak directly with committee members as they begin work on setting spending and tax policy for the next two years,” Sen. Jacque said.  “This gives citizens access to make committee members of both parties aware of the unique needs of citizens in our area and the state policies we support to address them, so I’m very pleased that the 1st District will host this public meeting.”

Sen. Jacque said those who wish to speak to the Joint Finance Committee need only to complete a form when they arrive at the High School, and their name will be added to the list of speakers.  The details of the hearing are:

Wednesday, April 2

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sen. Jacque said 1st District constituents should also feel free to contact his District Office at 920/420-9570, or by email at Sen.Jacque@legis.wisconsin.gov.

“1st District residents should always feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you have about the impact of the state budget or any legislative proposals on our area, or if you need assistance dealing with a state agency,” Sen. Jacque said.  “I look forward to hearing from my neighbors here in Northeast Wisconsin over this legislative session.”
