MADISON — Today, Democratic members of the Joint Committee on Finance (JFC) held a press conference in the State Capitol to discuss the feedback they have received throughout the state on Gov. Evers’ proposed 2025-27 biennial budget. The official JFC hearings took place throughout April in Kaukauna, West Allis, Hayward, and Wausau. However, Democratic members of the legislature held dozens of additional opportunities all across Wisconsin to have their voices heard.
The four Democratic members of the Joint Committee on Finance issued the following statement:
“The listening sessions we held provided an opportunity for people around the state to showcase the disastrous consequences of the Trump-Musk chaos and how Gov. Evers’ budget proposal offers a positive alternative for our state, where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
“Over the past few weeks, Wisconsinites have seen attacks on dairy farms, broadband access, healthcare, child care, and schools by the Trump-Musk regime, not to mention the rising costs and lost wages that will result from their trade wars.
“We are committed to passing a budget that invests in working families and addresses cost-of-living challenges for everyone in Wisconsin.”
