MADISON, WI—Senator Melissa Ratcliff (D-Cottage Grove) has been appointed by Minority Leader Senator Hesselbein to serve on the Wisconsin Nuclear Power Summit Board, where she will represent the voices of families and communities as Wisconsin explores its future energy options.
Wisconsin Act 11 creates a Nuclear Power Summit Board to organize, promote, and host a Wisconsin nuclear power summit in the city of Madison to advance nuclear power and fusion energy technology to showcase Wisconsin’s leadership and innovation in the nuclear industry.
The Summit Board will bring together community leaders, energy experts, and policymakers to talk about how nuclear power might fit into Wisconsin’s clean energy goals. The board will focus on making sure energy is safe, reliable, and affordable for families while protecting the environment for future generations.

Senator Ratcliff will bring her expertise in this area being the Ranking Democratic Member on the Senate Committee on Utilities, Technology, and Tourism. As a member of the Nuclear Power Summit Board, Senator Ratcliff will help guide policy discussions, review emerging technologies, and assess economic and workforce impacts tied to nuclear power development in Wisconsin.
